Ecologie Vintage: Shopping local never goes out of style!

Women’s consignment store turned quirky vintage boutique; Ecologie Vintage has become a hive for shoppers seeking timeless pieces.

Co-founder Nancie Vann is a proud Kennesaw local and is passionate about her thriving shop’s ability to bring unique offerings to her hometown. Having grown up and attended college in Kennesaw, opening her business in the city was an easy choice.

Vann’s decision to set up camp in the Town Center area was originally due to the short commute between her home and storefront. However, when asked about Town Center now, she said, “I think it’s in its prime right now.” She cited the area’s increased demand for local businesses and various untapped markets as incentives for businesses looking for a place to settle down.

“There is an opportunity for aspiring business owners to dive into the culture of the area,” said co-owner Chelsea Marquez. She urges other business owners to lean into creating niche spaces with subcultures.

With Kennesaw State University less than three miles away, Ecologie Vintage services a diverse audience of shoppers. From college students to individuals throughout metro Atlanta looking for hidden gems, to eager TikTok followers, Ecologie Vintage has created a fan base that spans far outside Kennesaw’s borders. In fact, Vann mentioned two girls recently dedicated their spring break vacation to a road trip starting in California and ending at, you guessed it, Ecologie Vintage.

Along with a passion to curate an eclectic inventory, Ecologie Vintage is dedicated to supporting the community. Currently, all 21 of their employees are Kennesaw residents and the store hosts a semi-annual event in the Town Center Mall parking lot which includes 100 local businesses selling a variety of items. For this past April’s event, Vann and her team worked with Town Center Community Improvement District to promote the event, a partnership Vann said she is excited to utilize more in the future.

“My biggest advice would be to encourage people to really truthfully spend some time in small businesses,” said Marquez. “They need all the attention and all of the love.”
