The Noonday Creek Trail is open for walking, cycling, jogging and other non-motorized means to explore our district from a different perspective. The CID created this trail to celebrate our natural environment, encourage physical activity, and connect neighbors and neighborhoods. The trail is completely paved, making it easy for users of any age to get out of the traffic and experience the flush nature that surrounds where you live and work. The CID helps maintains landscaping, so the trail is always clean, safe and photo-ready. We have installed wayfinding signage along the way, as well as restrooms, water fountains, benches and trash cans.
The CID developed this project with bicyclists and pedestrians in mind. The portion of the trail currently in place provides a safe transportation link between KSU and the Chastain Road corridor. A continuation of the trail is planned to continue along Busbee Drive south to connect to the existing Big Shanty Road Trail.

Attractions & Amenities: Noonday Creek Trail access, Bikeshare Station, Restrooms
The Bells Ferry Trailhead is the district’s easternmost point of the Noonday Creek Trail. In 2017, we updated the area to provide trail-friendly amenities such as a restroom, parking lot, trash receptacles, bike rental station, benches, lighting, landscaping and water fountains for people and pets. In October 2019, we extended the concrete pad at the bikeshare station to create room for potential additions. The goal of this project was to provide needed amenities for trail visitors. These improvements have created a comfortable and safe starting point for any trail journey.
Aviation Park

Attractions & Amenities: Noonday Creek Trail access, Bikeshare Station, STEM playground, Restrooms, Hands-on K-5 Learning, Picnic Pavilion by Reservation
This aviation-themed park is adjacent to the Cobb County International Airport runway. It lies midpoint along the Noonday Creek Trail and offers amenities such as a 60-space parking lot, water fountain for people and pets, open green space, STEM playground, airplane-shaped climbing structure, pavilion, and a restroom facility designed to replicate the nearby airport control tower. The vision behind the park was to engage visitors in a beautiful open environment and provide much-needed amenities along the Noonday Creek Trail. The space near the end of the runway at the Cobb airport, a dedicated CID partner, led our team to the perfect park theme. We turned the high-profile but underutilized green space into an opportunity to educate the community on the history of aviation in Cobb County. Aviation Park is the first effort of its kind for the district. The Town Center CID and Alliance carried out the planning, design, construction and funding of the entire project. It represents a crucial tactic from our master plan—to implement more green space and quality of life initiatives.
