Removes existing barrier to pedestrian and bike traffic

 

Facilitates alternate mode of travel to popular area destinations and recreational opportunities, such as West Cobb Trail, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, and the Mountain to River Trail in Marietta

 

Provides safety enhancements for pedestrian and vehicular traffic

 

Adds value to existing trail infrastructure

 

Provides additional transportation options and enhanced mobility

 

Preserves natural resources and allows users to experience varying environmental habitats and wildlife

Project Overview

This pedestrian bridge will be a safer solution for pedestrians and cyclists using the Noonday Creek Trail to cross SR3/ US41/ Cobb Parkway, which is a four-lane divided state route. The crossing also includes elevated boardwalks through wetland areas. The project will provide a completed regional connection for mobility. This project is currently being managed by the Cobb County Department of Transportation (DOT) and is in the preliminary engineering phase.
