Town Center Community Alliance Announces Founding Board of Trustees & New Website

The Town Center Community Alliance, the non-profit arm of the Town Center Community Improvement District (TCCID), has launched its website at towncentercommunityalliance.org, and announced its founding board of trustees.

“We are grateful to have the commitment and leadership of this respected board of directors as we boldly move forward on projects that will change the landscape for residents and visitors in the Town Center District,” said Jennifer Cain, Development Director for the Alliance. “Each of these members deeply believes in our mission to create green space and improve the quality of life in our community.”

The Alliance’s mission is to improve the environment and enhance the quality of life in the Town Center area through public greenspace and trail projects, community education and programming, and district beautification.

The Alliance’s first efforts culminated in the opening of Aviation Park in November. Aviation Park is located adjacent to the Cobb County International Airport and offers state-of-the-art, aviation-themed playground equipment, a grassy open area for plane viewing, and a control tower themed building with restrooms.

Other current Alliance efforts include Bells Ferry Trailhead improvements and the future 42-acre Town Center Park. The Alliance is also expanding the current Town Center Zagster Bike Share program to include additional bikes and stations along the Noonday Creek Trail as well as key commercial locations around the district.

Unlike the TCCID, which is supported through a voluntary tax from commercial property owners, the Alliance is a 501c (3) and can provide opportunities for everyone to contribute to the future landscape of this community. By promoting a culture of philanthropy in the Town Center area, the Alliance can benefit from different funding sources and accomplish a more diverse range of projects.
