Project Description

Project Information

The goal of this project is to add transportation options between the Town Center Mall/Barrett economic activity center and Kennesaw State University (KSU). The project would construct a shared-use path between the Noonday Creek Trail, just north of Town Center Mall, and the Skip Spann Connector, just north of Chastain Road. The proposed trail is 13’ wide in most sections, consisting of an 8’ wide, two-way bicycle lane and a 5’ wide pedestrian lane. In addition, landscaping and lighting would be included along the proposed trail. This trail would provide an important north to south connection point and a safe alternate route for cyclists and pedestrians. One of the most significant impacts will be to KSU students and other campus visitors, creating a lighted route to and from KSU’s main campus to the busy Fifth Third Bank Stadium for games and other events.

Current Status

The Concept Report was approved in July 2015. Cobb County is partnering with the Town Center CID and KSU to deliver this project, helping fund several of the phases as well as assisting in acquiring right-of-way.
