Project Description

Project Information

The goal of this project is to add transportation options between the Town Center Mall/Barrett economic activity center and Kennesaw State University (KSU). The project would construct a shared-use path between the Noonday Creek Trail, just north of Town Center Mall, and the Skip Spann Connector, just north of Chastain Road. The proposed trail is 13’ wide in most sections. Landscaping and lighting would be included along the proposed trail. In a future phase, this trail will provide an important north to south connection point and a safe alternate route for cyclists and pedestrians. One of the most significant impacts will be to KSU students and other campus visitors, creating a lighted route to and from KSU’s main campus to the busy Fifth Third Bank Stadium for games and other events, as well as a connection to the CobbLINC Transit Station and GRTA parking lot.

Current Status

The construction documents for this project are complete and right of way acquisition, funded by the Town Center CID, is anticipated to begin in Spring 2019.
